Not All Home Pregnancy Tests Are Created Equal

February 23rd, 2008 by admin

If you’re at the point where you’re ready to use a home pregnancy test, remember that not all tests are created equal. Many home pregnancy tests are not sensitive enough to detect most pregnancies until about a week after a missed period, so if you take one earlier and get a negative result, try again in a few days. If you get a positive result make an appointment with your health care provider or obstetrician. He or she will confirm the signs of pregnancy you’ve been experiencing with another pregnancy test in the office, and prescribe prenatal vitamins in addition to setting up a schedule for future prenatal visits.

The Impact Of a Birth Chart

February 20th, 2008 by admin

The first area where the birth chart had an impact on our lives was naturally on our diets. Suddenly, some of my best loved foods were banished from not just the kitchen, but the household as well. When I tried to question her, she gave me that ‘ I know what is best for me and our baby’ look and effectively silenced me. The second area that was soon invaded and conquered was the waking and sleeping moments. Rather than wait for the baby to be born in order to adjust our sleep cycles, my wife mapped out the predictions and comments in the birth chart to regulate our sleeping moments. Which is why I would suddenly find myself rudely being shaken out of my beauty sleep in order to feel the baby move at all odd times of the day and night.

Free Baby Samples - Avoid Diaper Rashes

February 20th, 2008 by admin

Parents with newborns are very finicky with their children’s health, taking especial care of them to avoid irritating conditions, one of which is called diaper rash. Diaper rash is a common condition among babies who are still on diapers, and it is an irritant not only to babies, but to their parents as well. Free baby samples of different diaper rash ointments and gels are available in supermarkets and drugstores, even online. Many manufacturing companies for these products offer free baby samples, also called free trial samples so they can test their product in the market. Most of these offers come with other items and are shipped for free.

Saunas And Other Cultures

February 19th, 2008 by admin

Sure, we've all heard of saunas. And I'm pretty sure a lot of us have heard of the "benefits" of the healing qualities of having sauna treatments. But do we actually understand what these benefits truly are? And why is it that we only give credit to saunas for being beneficial to your health? What about the Japanese and their super hot baths that they take? And what about the Native Indians and their little steam huts? Seems to me that we are a little too quick to give all the credit to saunas in general, when other cultures have been enjoying the same basic benefits, but in different ways.

Home Pregnancy Test

February 18th, 2008 by admin

A home pregnancy test uses urine to detect if pregnancy hormones are present, but usually, this can only be done a week or more after a missed period. If taken too soon, the pregnancy hormone will not yet be at a high enough level to be detected. Some pregnancy tests do state, however, that you use first morning urine, because it is more concentrated and will have the largest amount of pregnancy hormones present

Home pregnancy tests are on average a dependable inexpensive way to confirm a pregnancy. They are very reasonably priced, and are very similar to the urine pregnancy tests used by physician’s offices.
