The necessity of SGLI insurance

December 15th, 2008 by admin

Servicemembers’ Group Life Insurance (SGLI) provides a strong foundation of protection for families of active-duty military personnel and reservists, however if you have a family, insurance is an absolute necessity and most families don’t have enough. A variety of life insurance topics will help you make informed decisions for your family. While it’s a little bit paternalistic, it’s a firm nudge to get Soldiers to get life insurance for themselves and their families. Your budget and needs determine your Medical Plan choice

December 4th, 2008 by admin

Health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance and vision insurance are all types of Medical Plans.  There are even some plans that offer a combination of some or all of these insurances. Your budget and need for these insurances will guide you to select the best plan. If you have the resources your best bet is to get a combination package that covers a few or all of the aforementioned insurances. If you are on a small budget you may want to look into discount plans . These will be lower payments and not have a precondition clause but they will require you to pay a certain percentage of each medical appointment and need. This is a serious decision so be aware of all your options.

November 22nd, 2008 by admin

When Hanna Montana’s alter ego is put away after a concert, Miley Stewart is just a normal teenage girl who wants to lead as normal of a life as possible and be treated and liked for who she is as Miley, not as the famous pop star Hanna Montana.  It is important for those close to Miley to keep her famous status a secret.  The hannah montana television show focuses on major issues of teenagers today; school bullying, exclusion from the “in” crowd and achieving good grades. Throw in some silly pranks and some funny punch lines, and you have yourself a hit television show!

An Amazing Race Themed Party…You’ll Definitely be a Winner!

November 6th, 2008 by admin

Turning sweet sixteen does not mean that you have to plan a formal, expensive, fancy party that you and your guests have to get all dressed up for.  For any guy or girl, a fun alternative to a stuffy themed party would be to have an “Amazing Race” themed birthday party that will have your guests completing tasks, reading clues and racing for the finish line!  It is best to keep your party down to under twelve people.  Put them in pairs of two.  When the race starts, each team will read a set of clues and follow the directions accordingly.  You can have designated people to hand out the clues and tasks at the proper destinations.  The team who crosses the finish line first wins!  This is not your typical sweet sixteen birthday party, but it will be one that will keep your guests active and talking about repeating it again on your seventeenth birthday party!

Family Vacation Destination - How Far is Too Far

September 25th, 2008 by admin

Choosing a family vacation destination can be a difficult thing, especially when you have little ones tagging along. So how far can you comfortably travel by car with children under ten? Check out our chart to find out what the maximum time of comfortable car time is for each age group . . .•    3 and under – 3 hours•    3 to 5 – 4 hours •    5 to 7 – 5 to 6 hours•    8-10 – 8 hoursEach child’s breaking point is different. These are just general guidelines to help you pan out a good choice destination. Remember, it is unreasonable to believe a child can sit still for hours and hours at a time. Expect a few “Are we there yet’s” and maybe even a tantrum in between. Whatever you choose, be prepared and make sure to pack plenty of snacks, drinks and activities for your little ones to ensure they won’t get bored or fussy.

All Occasion

August 23rd, 2008 by admin

I am not the type of person to buy a lot of new things just because I am trying to keep up with the current style. As a matter of fact I consider myself quite frugal and I like to hang on to trends for as long as possible. This is the same for the stroller that I would like to purchase for my baby. I have seen new families go out and purchase different strollers for different occasions and I want to find one that fits all my needs. I have been looking at the Cortina Stroller because it seems to be exactly what I am looking for.

Single Mother Financial Assistance Organizations

August 10th, 2008 by admin

Government assistance programs have an income criterion that establishes how much assistance is granted. Basically, a single mother must be very poor before she can qualify for more help. A single mother’s income can either be too much or too little and this leaves her facing another dilemma. The more resources a single woman already has, the less help she will receive. Some single mothers have to resort to getting a second job.

Fortunately, there is another way out of this web of confusion and distress. Financial aid for single mothers Organizations such as churches, private organizations and major non-profit organizations such as, The Salvation Army, The United Way, The American Red Cross, and Goodwill Industries will often assist with qualified families’ utility bills.
